Brainstorming actions Black people can do to help ourselves during this virus

As a former educator, I was brainstorming and came up with a few ideas that might just work if pursued. This is not the time to retreat or wait for someone else to help us.

Appreciate any other ideas that may be viable at this time. If you think this post has merit, please circulate

Open Black churches as computer labs for children who do not have access to computers in their homes. Why aren’t churches using their facilities for children who do not have computers and libraries?

  1. Donate old computers to families who do not have any and get computer geeks to donate time to set it all up.
  2. Work with gangs to form computer classes for members
  3. Retired teachers find a child to mentor, using Zoom
  4. Start children’s libraries in churches
  5. Form savings clubs of $1.00 per week. For adults and ten cents a week for children. Us money for computer labs
  6. Match children with older mentors over the internet to teach multiplication tables and grammar.
  7. Retired teachers post short lessons for students on the internet.
  8. Preachers work on getting congregations internet savvy.
  9. Get young people to teach older people how to use their cell phones and to the internet.

Please do not criticize, just suggestions, just my opinions. So, what do you suggest?
